After last weeks dominant performance against the All Blacks, today is England’s chance to win the Rugby World Cup since the last time they did it 16 years ago. I spoke to the former Welsh Rugby Union & League legend Jonathan Davies this week on the radio. After his initial disappointment of Wales losing to South Africa last week he thinks England will win it. Let’s hope so it in what will probably be a tight game but hopefully not as nail biting as the last time when we won with a last minute drop goal from a Jonny Wilkinson. Unfortunately both my two have games Saturday morning so I won’t be able to watch but I’ll be following it online, which is sometimes worse as you can’t actually see what’s going on. It’s been a great tournament and Japan have been amazing hosts. One of the details I love is each team has a Japanese mascot with them and each of those kids has learnt the words to the National Anthem of the team they are stood with.
Last Monday was World Chocolate Day and we asked our listeners what their favourite bar was. Most people came back with more than one showing it’s still not lost its popularity. Now a clever parent has revealed the cunning trick she uses to ensure her chocolate treats remain untouched.
The mum, who is believed to be American, hides her chocolate in the freezer…..and disguises them in an innocent bag of vegetables.
She uploaded a photo of her genius idea on Facebook with the caption: “Let’s see the kids find this stash.” The post has been shared more than 54,000 times and had almost 3,000 reactions. Rest assured that’s a trick we’ll be trying in our house.
One of the reasons to set up the radio station was to make sure we helped local charities and the local community. This year, between now and the 15th of Decemberwe’re asking you to donate to the Radio One Mallorca Help a Mallorca Child Appeal.
Over all the years we have ran this campaign and with your generosity, we have been able to bring Christmas cheer to hundreds of children and pensioners on the island, plus enable Son Espases to make their Childrens ward child and parent friendly.
This year your donations will benefit:
The Salvation Army: Please donate new and used toys in good condition for children aged between 1 and 9 years old. These will be wrapped and given to the children at a special Christmas Party.
Fundacio Nazaret: With your donations last year we were able to buy a voucher for every child, we aim to do the same again with your help.
Age Concern: Food donations accepted to make Christmas hampers for the Seniors across the island. Please just put something extra each week onto your shopping list!
Son Espases: Our connection with the Childrens ward and the childrens intensive care ward at Son Espases has enabled them to make positive changes to the area, we are currently involved in preparing a room for the parents of seriously ill children, so they can be closeby.
This year, to help raise more needed funds we are asking anyone who would like, to sponsor a day on the radio!
Starting 15th Nov to 15th Dec you can sponsor each weekday for your business, event, special promotion or even for a special person!
A promo will be made and air on the hour each hour 8am to 7pm and the presenters will talk about who is sponsoring each day during their shows. You can even come into the studio on your day with a pre-arranged interview to talk about what or who you have sponsored for that day.
Minimum 100€ per day for sponsorship, it’s a great way to promote anything you want and all the proceeds go to great causes.
It’s a great cost effective way to advertise plus helps us raise even more funds for our Christmas Appeal.

Please help us to bring a smile to lots of faces this Christmas
A busy weekend of football for the boys and as luck would have it they’re both playing at home one after the other on Saturday. So an easy weekend for Dad Taxi, also I’ve set up my own Instagram account dad.taxi so give it a follow please. Real Mallorca living up to their annoying standards of beating Real Madrid one week and losing to bottom of the table Leganés the next. They can’t buy an away win and if they’re to survive they’re going to have to try and win a few. This week at the time of writing they’re playing Osasuna at home and they play Valladolid away on Sunday. Better news for Atlético Baleares who won again at the Weekend 4-1 and are 5 points clear at the top of Segunda B Group 1. They’re at home on Sunday against Real Oviedo B, 12 midday kick-off.
Enjoy your weekend!
